Reaching kids and serving as a KidMin leader requires means and methods that are unique, winsome and effective...!  Stuffy and stoic are not characteristics needed in KidMin Leaders and Volunteers.

Are you willing to be silly for salvation?

Are you willing to be a goof for the Gospel?

Are you willing to be a little KRAZY for the Kingdom?

1. Ambassadors

We are called to be ambassadors of God for the reconciliation of the lost.  As ambassador, we ought to understand the people unto whom we are called.  If we are called to Africa, we ought to become experts in African culture.

2. Contextualization in Kids Ministry

Just like any good missionary, we should seek to reach out in a contextually relevant way.  If I went to Africa as a missionary but packed as if I were to Siberia, I am less likely to be effective and received.  In the same way, we must become a student of the children in my ministry area.  What are 3rd and 4th graders learning in school, listening to, struggling with and on and on.  This is developing a missionary mindset.

3. Becoming All Things...to Win the Lost.

Paul modeled how to reach out in an effective way.  If reaching out to Jews, he became a Jew.  If reaching out to the Romans, Paul became a Roman.  His message remained the same.  His means was transformed to fit his audience.

For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings. - I Corinthians 9:19-23

4. When in Rome...

When in Rome, do as the Romans. When in the 1st-3rd grade room, do as the 1st-3rd graders do.  We might be a little more animated.  We might be a little more creative.  We must seek to "become all things to all people so that by all means, I might win some..."
