Overview

One day Jesus is coming and He will repay the faithful. The extra effort of intentionality, pouring into your children by faith, will be rewarded. We have been called to be spiritually nurturing agents to our children. But we need eyes to see where to best minister to our children. Ask what you can do this week, where you can be used in the life of your kids. Small acts of intentionality, done by faith in the Lord, will be rewarded. Be faithful to the Lord to be the spiritual leader of your family. Faithfully add one spiritual building block to another, so a well-established foundation of faith is formed in our children.

Recall

What are we called to be to our children?

Reflect

Can you think of a time where you poured into your children in secret this week?

Respond

Can you think of any ways you need to pour into your children this week? Pray for the Lord to reveal where your children need to be ministered to.

Rethink

What are you doing right now to develop a foundation of faith in your children?

Eternal Reward

The apostle John, while sitting on the island of Patmos, closed off the book of Revelation by quoting Jesus Christ, “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.”

One day Jesus is coming. He brings his reward with him. He will repay with unbelievably humongous dividends to the faithful. What was done in secret will be rewarded. A prayer offered for your child at their bedside in secret will be rewarded.

An act of compassion when your child is seeming like the slow and straggling sheep, will be rewarded. I mean, don’t we all have those days? Can our children have those days and still be loved, hugged and accepted? That extra effort and intentionality that was placed in laying down with them before bed and pouring into them, by faith, will be rewarded.

Listen, He is coming soon and his reward is with him. We have been called to spiritually nurture our kids. We want to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Oh that we would have discerning eyes to see the special way we could minister to our kids in compassion and love on any given day. I want to have eyes to see where his love is most needed in my kids, and be moved by the Holy Spirit to administer the healing salve of Jesus Christ at the right moments.

Ask where you could be used, this week, in the life of your kids. Faithfully obey God’s leading. Jump in with small acts of intentionality like taking 7-10 minutes to read their children’s Bible with them tonight.

That act of intentionality, done by faith in the Lord, will be rewarded. Let’s be found faithful. Let’s be found faithful in carrying out the commands of Scripture to be the primary spiritual input in our kids lives. How amazing would it be to faithfully add one spiritual building block to another and another so that a well-established faith foundation results.

The apostle John closes the book of Revelation which also closes off the entire Bible by saying these words, “He who testifies to these things says, Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come Lord Jesus! His reward is with Him.
